MARIUS DE VRIES (Additional Score)
began his musical career at St. Paul's
Cathedral in London, where he became head chorister in 1974. He studied English at
Cambridge University before becoming a freelance music writer and programmer,
initially as a member of the Blow Monkeys in the mid-1980s. More recently, he has
worked as producer and programmer for Annie Lennox, Madonna, Anja Garbarek, U2,
Bjork, Massive Attack and many other artists. He also worked with U2 and Tina Turner
on the title music for the films "Goldeneye" and "Batman Forever."
De Vries has had original music commissioned for various English and European
television shows and has also recently collaborated with composer Craig Armstrong on
orchestral music for the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, some of which premiered at the
Glasgow Mayfest in 1996.
De Vries is married and lives in Cambridge with his wife, Felicity, two children
and twenty-one guinea pigs.
